PLAYGROUND UPGRADES
Santee Lakes has five play structures. All but one has been updated with modern equipment.
Campground Playground
A grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board grant helped make this playground possible. The surfacing is made of recycled tires. This project diverted over 400 tires from our landfill waste stream.

Kiwanis Playground
This playground was partially funded through state grants and Park funds. However, the majority of the funding came from the local Kiwanis Club and their fundraising efforts. This playground is designed specifically for children with disabilities. The design allows 100% access to each play feature.

Mega Tower Play Structure

|
Between Lakes 1 and 2, a new play structure will replace the old, outdated one. The existing structure does not meet the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) or ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards for play structures. |
A three level Mega Tower Play Structure is the proposed replacement. Designed by Miracle Recreation, it will provide hours of fun for all children. A new play structure is a must for the large number of families with children that visit the Park and will be constructed as funds become available.
Project cost estimate: $130,000
