Volunteering

The volunteer program is very important to our overall success. We have developed the volunteer program as a mutually beneficial alliance.

The benefits to Santee Lakes are enormous. It allows management to better utilize its paid staff for major maintenance and regulatory obligations. It benefits from cost efficient volunteer support in security, trash control, maintenance, rest room custodial services and park host representatives.

There are many benefits to the volunteer as well. The volunteer, stays active and may, as a requirement of the position, receive a campsite in which to park their recreational vehicle in exchange for their services.

Volunteer Opportunities are available in the following areas:

Rec Center Host: Provide the key function of operating and maintaining the Rec Center and laundry room facility in a first class manner.  It is the hosts responsibilities to insure the park meets or exceed our guests expectations.

Grounds Maintenance Volunteer:  Provide the critical customer service function of maintaining the Park grounds, restrooms and related facilities in a first class manner. 

Gate Attendant: Perform the key functions of greeting every guest entering the Park, collecting parking fees and various user fees, providing visitor information at the park and campground. Couples are preferred for this position.

Campground Host: Perform several critical functions including preparing campsites for arrivals and serve as an after hours emergency contact.

Utility Volunteer: Performs the duties of all volunteer positions, assists Park Operations Staff and fills in for other volunteers when needed.
