Our campground is open and ready to welcome you! As you make your reservation, please review California’s COVID-19 Restrictions, which include recommendations for travel to and within the state.
The Day Use Park is open with limitations.
How do I check-in and check-out?
You can check-in at the Gatehouse.
Extended stay campers (30 nights or more) should call the Park Office to settle their electric usage balance. Cabins guests should check in and out at the Gatehouse, and return keys at Gatehouse.
What is the Cancellation Policy during this pandemic?
Reservations made after April 1, 2020 will be subject to regular cancellation policies.

May I have visitors to my campsite?
Do not allow guests/visitors access to Santee Lakes unless you have a medical necessity that requires a family member, relative or friend to assist you. Members of your household are allowed.
What are the guidelines for the Campground Swimming Pool?
- Pools and spa will operate at half capacity. Pool entry is limited, and pool entry policies are subject to change.
- Only registered campers may use the pools.
- Furniture is unavailable. You may bring your own camping chair, but must clean it before you enter the pool area.
- Guests are encouraged to wear face coverings when they are not in the water and are unable to practice physical distancing (at least six feet) from others not in their household.
- Keep your hands clean by washing hands with soap and water frequently. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- The spa is for adults only.
Is the laundry room open?
The laundry room is open and cleaned each morning. The facility is sanitized regulary. Please practice social distancing with the other guests while in the laundry room.
Are pedal boats available?
The pedal boats in the Day Use area are closed. The pedal boats located at the Cabins are available to registered Cabins guests only.
What are the Park hours?
Beginning March 14, Park hours will be 8:00AM – 7:00PM
Monday – Thursday and 6:00AM – 7:00PM Friday – Sunday.
WALK-IN GATES are open at 7:00 AM
CLOSED AMENITIES IN THE DAY USE PARK
- The following amenities will remain closed:
- Walk-in Gate at Gatehouse
- The General Store (due to construction)
- Drinking fountains
NOTE: Campers in the Day Use area of the Park
Campers are not allowed to take their vehicles into the Day Use portion of the Park due to limitations on number of vehicles allowed to enter. If you need to purchase a fishing permit, you may take your vehicle to the Gatehouse, park in marked spaces to obtain permit. Please take your vehicle back to your campsite once you purchase your permit.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.
The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms or combinations of symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Or at least two of these symptoms:
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
This list is not all-inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.
When should I seek medical attention?
If you have any of these emergency warning signs* for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately:
- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion or inability to arouse
- Bluish lips or face

Call 911 if you have a medical emergency: Notify the operator that you have, or think you might have, COVID-19. If possible, put on a cloth face covering before medical help arrives.
What should I do if I am exposed to COVID-19?
If you have identified a case of COVD-19 in your social circle or tested positive, please let Park Staff know ASAP via email (email@example.com) so we may follow public health and safety protocols. Self-quarantine for 14 days.
What should I do if I get sick while camping?
If you are sick and on site, please cancel your reservation for a full refund and go home. If that is not an option, self-quarantine inside your RV for 14 days. Please let Park Staff know via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are in a self-quarantine.
Any tips on cleaning my RV?
Clean surfaces with a disinfectant that are frequently touched inside and outside your RV – things such as countertops, electronics, doorknobs, etc.
Is the Dog Park open?
The Bark Park is open. Please no more than 3 dogs maximum per guest. Maintain a physical distance between other campers of 6 ft.
How do I obtain a fish permit?
Fish permits are required, now that the Park is open. You may purchase a fish permit at the Gatehouse or from a Park Ranger. We would like campers to avoid driving a vehicle in the Day Use Park, but if you are purchasing a fish permit, you may drive to the Gatehouse, park in marked spaces and then return your vehicle to your site.
