So many babies at the Lakes! We have baby Wood ducks, and this year, our first Canada Gosling!

Rangers Richard & Ileana installed three new fishing line receptacles at Lakes 1 & 2 in order to give guests more opportunities to properly dispose of fishing line. Recently, we have noticed an increase in the amount of discarded fishing line scattered throughout the Park. We can all ensure that the wildlife we enjoy around our lakes do not have to suffer from our carelessness. Fishing line is a danger to wildlife, it should never be discarded on the ground. If you see any left by others, please pick it up.

The shade cover is completed and beautiful!  The counters and cabinets are almost completely installed and we have been moving staff into the General Store. New branded Santee Lakes inventory is ready to sell once the General Store is open. The areas around the new buildings are open. Pedal boats are being tuned up for rentals soon!
