Adopt a Wood Duck Box

Wood ducks live in wooded swamps, where they nest in holes in trees or in nest boxes put up around lake margins. At Santee Lakes, we have a thriving Wood Duck population due to our Wood Duck Nesting Box Program.

For $300, each tax-deductible donation will include your name engraved on the Wood duck nesting box of your choice (if available) and three years of maintenance, which includes cleaning, any repairs needed, and replacing nesting materials regularly.

If you are interested in adopting a Wood duck nesting box, please complete the form below and a member of our Park Staff will contact you to coordinate your donation.

All requests must be coordinated and approved through Park Staff.

Note: Boxes can be adopted, but will not be installed mid-January through May 1, due to active nesting season.
