Santee Lakes has a new blog!

We will keep you updated on all sorts of Park and Campground happenings and make sure you are up to date on all things Santee Lakes!

We will try to keep it short and sweet but here goes!

Campground 

Paradise was already paved, we just made it nicer.  There is a newly paved parking lot right outside of the Clubhouse!

You may get a little island feel as you enter the newly resurfaced and redecorated pool and spa area!  One pool is now heated and there are tables and chairs with bright orange umbrellas, some tiki touches (not torches), and even a sweet turtle in the grassy area.  Enjoy!

Cabins

Also in the Campground, our Cabins have gotten a freshen up!  Staffers took their flair for designing and added some great details to our Cabins along with recent new coats of paint.  There is one cabin that is especially decorated for the bride to be and her bridal party to get ready on her big day or even that big night after the nuptials.

Staff Spotlight

Kyle Atchison is our Park Aide and has been at the Lakes since late 2017.  You will find him behind the counter in the Park Office making reservations, along with other things, like letting you know where to fish that day!  In his spare time, Kyle loves fishing and camping and playing the acoustic and electric guitars.  Kyle was born and raised in Santee, so if you need to know anything about the area, ask Kyle!

Staff Goodbyes 🙁

Zach Scott is moving out of state! We tried, but we couldn’t keep him here. Stop by the General Store and say goodbye to Zach before March 28th.  He will be dearly missed!

Upcoming Events

1000 Lights Lantern Festival will be at Santee Lakes on Saturday, March 23 which will include food, lively entertainment, and a beautiful spectacle of twinkling lights!

2,000 lbs. of Catfish will arrive for the Catfish Opener on April 6 & 7!  There will be tagged fish for prizes and no state license is required, only a fishing permit from the General Store.

Eggstravaganza is coming April 14 from 9AM-3PM!  Continuous Egg hunts, rides, crafts and much more!

Other Important Stuff

• The LAST Trout stock will be March 6, 2019.
• A fish cleaning station is being installed on the Lake 4 restroom, in case you were wondering.  This project will be done soon.
• There will be no more rental bikes due to our upcoming redevelopment of the Administration building and Park Office/General Store.
